Ms. Pacheco has more than 30 years of architectural design experience and is Director of H2M’s Troy Office, is an Assistant Vice President for the firm and Senior Architect. Ms. Pacheco focuses on standardization within production projects and specializes in CAD/BIM integration to bring highest value to clients. With over 25 years focusing on Public Safety Facilities throughout North America, she has been involved in the production, evaluation and construction administration of over 100 such facilities. Her responsibilities include client management, document coordination, materials research and selection, as well as shop drawing review, bidding services, construction administration, and all other phases of project management. Katrina has led the sustainability focus within the local office, achieving the first LEED Silver and LEED Gold designations in their category in NY and CT respectively. She is adept at keeping projects within budget, producing and working with clients and communities.
Mrs. Pacheco serves in a voluntary capacity on the Building Committee for Niskayuna Fire District No. 1 where she is an honorary member of the Grand Boulevard Fire Company (GBFC). Recently, she was accepted into this group as an administrative member which allows her to serve in non-responder roles (such as committee member or secretary) to assist the GBFC in its mission to serve the community. She was appointed in 2024 to be Chair of the Law Committee.
She is an Adjunct Professor teaching Professional Practice at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute to both undergraduate and graduate students. Her experience with sustainable practices and emergency response project expertise has enabled her to skillfully assist clients and counsel on many aspects of Emergency Response Facilities. Mrs. Pacheco has served as a 1-on-One advisor at the Fire Chief Magazine’s “Station Style Design Conference” and presented a seminar entitled “Tactical LEED for Fire Stations” in Kansas City to a national audience.
Award-winning design work includes most recently the AIA’s Eastern New York Chapter 2024 Design Award in Industrial Category for the West Natick Fire Station #4 where she served as Project Manager for the emergency service experts consulting to Tecton Architects, P.C., a group with which her firm has jointly produced many excellent public safety projects.
