Its work encompasses residential and public facilities, with an emphasis on organic and geo-sourced materials that are contextually sensitive. Notable projects include the Diamniadio Eco-Pavilion (2019), the NKD House (2024), and the Institut Français Dakar (2021). In addition to its built work, Worofila has contributed to research initiatives such as Dakarmorphose and Habiter Dakar, which examine Dakar’s urban development and contemporary challenges.
The firm has been recognized for its approach to sustainable architecture, winning Architectural Record‘s Design Vanguard award in 2024 and being shortlisted for the Ashden Award for Cooling in Informal Settlements in 2021. Her work also extends to research on Dakar’s urban development and housing conditions.
Nicolas Rondet, a French architect and co-founder of Worofila, specializes in the use of bio-based and geo-sourced materials in construction. A graduate of the École Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Versailles (ENSAV), he worked in Paris before relocating to Senegal in 2017.
