As part of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute’s Bicentennial commemoration during Reunion & Homecoming weekend, Dean Evan Douglis invites all School of Architecture alumni to join him to celebrate our collective journey that began at RPI and continues to shape who we are as professionals and global citizens today. This celebration will honor two remarkable individuals for their outstanding contributions to the profession and the RPI School of Architecture: Peter Bohlin ’58 and Emily Grandstaff-Rice ’99.

Peter Bohlin ’58, an esteemed member of the Rensselaer Hall of Fame, has left an indelible mark on the architectural landscape. Recognized with the prestigious Gold Award from the American Institute of Architects and hailed as an internationally acclaimed architect, his visionary contributions over the span of six decades have not only elevated the aesthetic allure of rural landscapes but also revitalized academic campuses, redefined city skylines, and served as a beacon of inspiration for countless professionals in the field.
Emily Grandstaff-Rice ’99, distinguished former President of the Boston Society of Architects and esteemed 2023 President of the AIA, epitomizes excellence and visionary leadership in the field of architecture. Her unwavering commitment to advancing the profession, nurturing innovation and design, and championing social equity has firmly established her as a respected and influential leader within the architectural community.
