According to Metropolis, “each year, Metropolis sets out to designate the top graduating architecture and interior design students in the United States and Canada. Nominated by their instructors and mentors, these 50 interior design and 50 architecture students were chosen by the Metropolis team.”

Maddie Mast was nominated by Matthew Lopez, lecturer, who describes her as “a dedicated and talented designer. She consistently delivers compelling work that is visually striking, technically precise, and conceptually sophisticated. Maddie is a force within our program and will undoubtedly succeed as an architect.”

Sarah Weber was nominated by Ryo Imaeda, lecturer, who notes that, “Weber’s projects, such as Chelsea Plication and Recumbent Folding, employ highly crafted physical models to assess the relationship between form-making and its environmental impact. Weber is a dexterously creative and intellectually curious thinker, brilliant at conceiving and making the most intricate and variegated projects.”

Dean Douglis highlights the significance of Mast and Weber’s selection for the 2024 Metropolis Future 100 award: “The 2024 Metropolis Future 100 is a highly selective award that showcases the most exceptional architecture students throughout the US. Recognizing outstanding talent and innovation in the field, Mast and Weber’s achievement not only underscores their dedication and hard work but also reflects the culture of creativity and excellence within our program, which continues to earn national acclaim.”
