ĒTER, Dagnija Smilga and Niklāvs Paegle:
“Sensory Spaces & New Awareness”
Rensselaer School of Architecture continues its Spring 2023 Lecture Series this Monday February 13th, 6:15pm at EMPAC with the lecture “Sensory Spaces & New Awareness” by Dagnija Smilga and Niklāvs Paegle of ĒTER.
ĒTER is an architectural practice focused on unique environments in-between nature, technology and contemporary culture.
At the foundation of their practice ĒTER explores the presence of public buildings beyond their physical boundaries. ĒTER believes we live in times of a new awareness and people are longing for reconnection with nature in a meaningful way; we want to feel something profound together. This is precisely where architecture and design is able to come in – tactile theatres, new synthetic spas, immersive museums, sensitive libraries – places to share with others.
With focus on architecture of cities, public space, cultural production and private habitats, ĒTER continues the investigation into the unforeseen by creating new briefs and assembling international expert teams
ĒTER is a partnership of Kārlis Bērziņš, Dagnija Smilga and Niklāvs Paegle – architects, researchers and educators operating between Alps and Baltic coastline.
ĒTER STRATEGY is a platform for addressing large-scale ecologies, collaborating with social anthropologists, political think tanks, climate engineers and real estate analysts.
We look forward to seeing you at this lecture.
