Generative Justice / Local Actor Series_
As part of the Fall 2020/Spring 2021 Building Sciences Lecture Series themed: “Generative Citizenship: Leveraging New Tools and Forms of Entrepreneurship in the City” we invite you to join us on Thursday, March 11 from 1.30-2.30pm EST. This virtual lecture will be open to the whole school and general public on Zoom. This spring’s lectures will focus on local actors in Troy, New York who have activated new forms of citizenship within the built environment. The second lecture is panel discussion and conversation with Jim Martin of Innovative Composites Automation and Jeff Betts of Sash and Frame.
Jim Martin is a manufacturing industry consultant principally focused on business development and commercialization based on novel and disruptive process engineering and technology development utilizing advanced composite materials. Jim and his wife, Heather, live locally and own and manage multiple historic Troy, NY properties and have been renovating, restoring and maintaining them together, with some great contributors, for nearly 30 years. Jeff Betts is the co-founder and partner at Sash and Frame. From 2011-2017, Jeff was a design and development lead at biomaterials company Ecovative. Jeff grew up working on old homes in the southeast and has been working on “#thisoldtroyhouse” since 2017.
