Tatiana Bilbao is an architect based in Mexico City where she founded her studio in 2004 with the aim of integrating social values, collaboration and sensitive design approaches to architectural work. Valuing contextual analysis on a number of scales, their work aims to contribute to its surroundings while remaining flexible to changing needs and conditions. Some residential projects include; Los Terrenos in San Pedro Garza Garcia, Mexico (2016), Ajijic in Jalostitlan, Mexico (2010), and Casa Ventura in Nuevo León, Mexico ( 2011). Large scale projects include; Bioinnova in Culiacan Rosales, Mexico (2012), Botanical Garden in Culiacan, Mexico (2012), the Pilgrim’s Route Master plan between Ameca and Talpa de Allende, Mexico (2010), the Guatemala Tower in Guatemala, Guatemala (2018), and many in process projects, some of which include; the Research Center Of The Sea Of Cortes in Sinaloa, Mexico, the Substation in San Francisco, California, USA, and the Silica II – Roble 700 in San Pedro Garza García, Mexico.

Before founding her firm, Bilbao was an Advisor in the Ministry of Development and Housing of the Government of the Federal District of Mexico City, while also working as part of the General Development Directorate of the Advisory Council for Urban Development in the City. Tatianao Bilbao holds a teaching position at Yale University School of Architecture and has taught at Harvard University GSD, AA Association in London, Columbia University GSAPP, Rice University, the University of Andrés Bello in Chile, and Peter Behrens School of Arts at HS Dusseldorf in Germany. Her work has been published in The New York TimesA + UDomus, among others. Bilbao has been recognized with the Kunstpreis Berlin in 2012, was named in 2010 as an Emerging Voice by the Architecture League of New York, the Global Award for Sustainable Architecture Prize by the LOCUS Foundation in 2014, as well as the Impact Award 2017 Honorees for ArchitzierA + Awards, Tau Sigma Delta Gold Medal of 2020 and the Marcus Prize Award 2019.
