Milton Braga is a founding partner of MMBB Arquitetos. Since its inception in 1991, MMBB has distinguished itself by the development of significant public and institutional projects, particularly in the area of urban design, earning recognition through numerous awards and exhibitions such as the First Prize at the Brazilian Pavilion National Competition for the 2020 Dubai Expo 2020; the award-winning project of the Jardim Edite Social Housing Complex at the 2014 Ibero-American Biennial de Architecture & Urbanism (Rosario, Argentina); the Best Entry Award for the Watery Voids proposal at the 2007 Rotterdam International Architecture Biennale; and several prizes in different editions of the International Sao Palo Architecture Biennale. MMBB is also known by its long on-going collaboration with Pritzker Prize Laurate Pablo Mendes da Rocha, most recently in the SESC 24 de Maio Center – an acclaimed sport, culture and leisure facility – and Lisbon’s National Coach Museum.
Milton Braga graduated with a professional Diploma of Architecture from the Faculdade de Arquitetura e Ubanismo da Universidade de Sao Paulo (FAU / USP) where he was also granted Masters (1999) and a Doctoral degrees (2006). Since 2001, Braga has been a faculty at the FAU / USSP and held a visiting professorship at University of Florida in 2008. He is the author of a book on the Brasilia competition O concurso de Brasília: sete projetos para uma capital (2010) which was awarded second place at the 53 º Jabuti Award (the most prestigious prize in Brazilian literature) in the category Architecture and Urbanism, 2011; and first prize ex aequo in the book category of the 2012 Cadiz Ibero-American Architecture & Urbanism Biennale. Milton has lectured in several institutions, among others the Royal Institute of British Architects, the American Institute of Architects and the Netherlands Architecture Institute.
