Open Studio @ CRAIVE Lab
FRIDAY, APRIL 13th, 6-8.30pm:
OPEN STUDIO @ CRAIVE Lab
Hosted by faculty Carla Leitao.
The CRAIVE Lab is located at 250 Jordan Rd, Troy, NY, 12180, in RPI’s Tech Park. Next to the Children’s Science Museum. Entrance door sign: “ERL – Emergent Reality Laboratory”
The CRAIVE Lab facility is a 360 degree, 39’x32’ visual and audio projection room/space located in the Rensselaer Technologic Park. It is a research space for the Center for Cognition, Communication and Culture @RPI, directed by Jonas Braasch – where a number of departments and classes – Cognitive Science, Gaming Program, Pscyho-Acoustics – hold classes or realize research.
For the School of Architecture, the CRAIVE Lab has been a host and trigger for architecture research projects into Virtual, Interactive and Immersive Space and Architecture, Environment Design, Information Visualization, Narrative and ‘Ambiance’.
The CRAIVE Lab allows experimentation of Architecture inquiries and where they intersect those of Media concepts – particularly, the ways in which design methods concentrate on the projective potential of analytical approaches.

The OpenStudio @CRAIVE main goals are to expose students to the space and to allow them to test their own materials in this environment. Students are welcome to bring their own files and work with them in the space, including: image, film, sound, unity and processing files.
