CAZÚ ZEGERS: “Poetic Territories”_
Chilean architect Cazú Zegers declares her work as intimately related to Chile’s territory, landscape and traditions. Her work represents an ongoing process and poetic quest exploring the way we “inhabit that territory”. Zeger’s work calls for way of inhabiting that is “precarious and light”, using a highly experiential, low-tech architecture that gently contributes to the landscape.
Zegers graduated from the world renown Escuela de Valparaiso (Valparaiso Catholic University’s School of Architecture) and her work advances the school’s tradition as defined by its Amereida foundational manifesto that declares an intimate relationship between poetry and architecture resulting in the development of a new latino language– one that is in dialogue with global paradigms.
