Blast-Off! Discussion: OATMAN & PASSERI
Associate Professor Michael Oatman and Lecturer Stefano Passeri will host this semester’s Blast-Off! Career Discussion Event. Both will talk about their career paths and how they have arrived at where they are today.
Michael Oatman will talk about his early career in teaching, which brought him to Harvard, SUNY Albany, UVM, St. Michael’s and the Rhode Island School of Design, his alma mater. He has taught in the School of Architecture at Rensselaer for the past 18 years. He will be able to discuss his extensive exhibitions in the United States and abroad, including his hundreds of public and private collections. He has been a Yaddo Fellow, an Arts Center honoree and was the 2005 winner of the Nancy Graves Foundation Award.
Steano Passeri will also discuss his transition from student to professional. He received his Master of Architecture with Distinction from the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc), and moved on to work for Cook Robotham Architecture in London, HOK in London and New York, and the LADG in Los Angeles. Stefano’s work has been exhibited and published in Los Angeles, London, Paris and Seoul.
Please join us this Wednesday in the Commons Dining Hall for discussion and dinner.
