LTL Architects (Lewis.Tsurumaki.Lewis) is a New York City design firm which focuses heavily on diversifying their portfolio with a large range of projects. LTL prides utilizing innovative solutions to explore opportunistic overlaps between space, program, form, budget, and materials.
Relatively new, the firm was founded in 1997 by Paul Lewis, Marc Tsurumaki, and David J. Lewis after receiving their Masters of Architecture from Princeton University. LTL’s work has been recognized by multiple publications and awards, including the 2007 National Design Award and more than one AIA design awards. The firm has been featured at the 2004 Venice Architecture Biennale for their U.S. pavilion. LTL’s exhibition design has displayed the permanent collections of the famous Museum of Modern Art, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and the Carnegie Museum of Art.
Currently Lewis.Tsurumaki.Lewis is working alongside Perkins+Will, and Thorton-Tomasetti, collaborating the renovation design of the 160,000 SF Upson Hall at Cornell University, anticipated to be completed this fall. Recently, LTL had finished their work on renovating The ContemporAry Austin – Jones Center, a contemporary art gallery in Austin-Texas. LTL also pre-qualified as one of the 26 architecture firms to participate in the Design and Construction Excellence 2.0 by NYC’s Department of Design and Construction through 2019.
