Dear Students, Alumni and Friends

As Dean of Rensselaer’s School of Architecture, I am writing to encourage you participate in the DesignIntelligence yearly survey of schools of architecture. Every year, DesignIntelligence issues rankings of the Best Architecture and Design Schools based upon feedback they receive from professional firms throughout the country. Although these rankings represent a small selective view of a school’s overall performance, they have shown to have a significant impact on increasing student enrollment, invigorating the alumni base, attracting institutional support with respect to funding and faculty positions, and overall raising awareness around the world of the reputation of our distinguished program.

DesignIntelligence has asked architecture schools once again to reach out to students, friends and alumni of their respective schools and leading practitioners throughout the U.S. We invite you to fill out the brief, anonymous survey in an effort to strengthen our rankings for our school’s programs.

It’s also important to note that the survey often favors larger schools with an extensive alumni base represented in offices throughout the U.S. In light of that larger context, it’s important to ensure that smaller schools with outstanding reputations like Rensselaer that continue from one year to the next to offer an exemplary education to our students in preparation of a changing and complex world, receive the proper recognition they deserve.

Please take a few moments to complete this brief survey and highlight Rensselaer’s School of Architecture as a program that is best preparing students for success in the design profession.

Please plan to finish the survey in one sitting; you will not be able to return to the survey at a later time. The responding party must be in a leadership position qualified to hire employees. If you are not qualified to complete this questionnaire on your firm’s behalf, we ask that you forward it on to a more appropriate person. Individual responses will be kept confidential but a listing of the responding firms will be published.

All survey answers go directly to DesignIntelligence via their confidential online survey. Please respond at your earliest possible convenience.
