Integrated Design Schematic Studio
Prof. Ted Krueger, Ph.D.
Room 402 Greene Building
“The Integrated Design Schematic (IDS) studio is the first semester of a two-semester sequence in Integrated Design….A central concern of the Integrated Design Squence is the relationship between architectural concepts and intentions and subsequent decisions in material selection, detail, structure, and systems integration…”
Friday, Oct. 2, 2-5 p.m.
Final Project Design Studio
Prof. Chris Perry (Final Project, coordinator)
4th Floor Greene Building (next to the elevator)
“…in an age of environmental uncertainty and existential threat, whereby the human experience has been fundamentally displaced and disoriented, physically as well as philosophically, how might we rethink cultural disciplines like architecture, which allow us to inhabit the world in conceptual, experiential, as well as mechanical terms? In other words, should architecture displace itself as well, in order to establish new affiliations beyond the human? And if so, what does it mean for architecture to define itself as something no longer significant for ‘us’ alone, in ways that transform not only the prosaic aspects of the discipline, but perhaps even more importantly, its discursive nature as well?”
ALUMNI WINE & CHEESE RECEPTION
Friday, Oct. 2, 5-6:30 p.m.
Room 117 Greene Building.
