Edwin Liu is a designer and educator that resides in Brooklyn, NY. He has worked as architectural designer in both Los Angeles and New York City since 2005.
Edwin is the principal of ISOFORM, a design consultancy that operates in the field of experiential and exhibition design to generate places, objects and experiences. Working in conjunction with advertising agency partners, ISOFORM has designed large-scale installations, pavilions, and spaces for clients such as Samsung, Google, Procter & Gamble, and Harman/Kardon. ISOFORM also provides digital fabrication consulting for several high-profile visual artists. Recently, Edwin has focused his research on the intersection between digital fabrication and ceramics.
Since 2013, Edwin has been a lecturer at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute School of Architecture. He has taught first and second-year architectural design studios, advanced topic studios, and visualization workshops in the undergraduate department. Edwin has also taught seminars in the graduate architecture program.
Outside of RPI, Edwin has taught at Pratt Institute, and at the Columbia University School of Professional Studies. He has been a invited critic at Cornell, University of Pennsylvania, The Parsons School of Design, Pratt Institute, Columbia University, and CCNY. Edwin has also worked as a 3D artist for several visual effects agencies in New York City.
Before moving to New York in 2010, Edwin was a designer at Gehry Partners in Los Angeles. He was a member of the design team on projects including the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, Foundation Louis Vuitton in Paris, the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, The Lou Ruvo Center in Las Vegas, and The Moscow Hotel.
